BV API

The BV score of any website — what one new followed link from it is worth to rankings, in dollars — as JSON, so you can show it on your own pages. Free, with a key.

Look up one site

curl https://mxverify.uk/api/v1/bv/google.com \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer mxk_your_key"
{
  "target": "google.com",
  "status": "valued",
  "bv": {
    "usd": 182.92,
    "per": "followed link",
    "level": "C",
    "caps": "",
    "version": "2.8",
    "audited": false
  },
  "report_url": "https://mxverify.uk/publications/google.com",
  "attribution": {
    "text": "BV by mxverify",
    "url": "https://mxverify.uk/publications/google.com",
    "required": true
  }
}

bv.usd is the value of one followed link from the site, as its mxverify report and BV badge show it; level is the kind of link it is priced at (A editorial to D link network) and caps what lowered it; version is the BV model; audited says links placed on the site have been checked.

Look up many

curl https://mxverify.uk/api/v1/bv \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer mxk_your_key" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"targets": ["google.com", "example.org"]}'

Up to 100 targets a request; the answer is {"results": [...]}, one entry per target, in order. Each counts as one lookup.

What a result says

statusMeaning
valuedThe site's BV, in bv.
unratedNo authority rating is on record for the site, so a link from it is not valued. bv is null: show nothing rather than $0.
valuingmxverify had never valued the site and is valuing it now. Ask again after retry_after seconds (about 2 minutes). A single lookup answers HTTP 202.
not_valuedA new site could not be valued now: your key's or the day's limit, or a moment's failure. reason says which, retry_after when to try.
not_foundNo website was found at the address when it was valued.
invalidThe target is not a website address.

Limits

Terms of use

  1. Attribution. Wherever you show a BV from this API, show the words BV by mxverify beside it, as a working link to the site's report_url (each result's attribution has both). For example: <span>BV $183 per link · <a href="https://mxverify.uk/publications/google.com">BV by mxverify</a></span>
  2. What it is. BV is the ranking benefit of one new followed link, from a published model (methodology). It is not a price, a promise of results, or a statement about any site's quality. Do not present it as one.
  3. Fair use. Stay within the limits above; do not spread one use across many keys or accounts to get past them. A key used against these terms may be revoked.
  4. As it is. Figures move when a site's record or the model changes, and the service may change or stop. It is provided free, without warranty.

Questions: support@bklink.uk. To show a site's BV without code, use its badge, on every report under Badge.
